Shafran: Belarusian laser system proves its effectiveness during testing
The work on creation of unique Shafran counter-UAV laser system is in progress. The development is carried out by OJSC «STC «LEMT» BelOMO» on behalf of SAMI.
A prototype of the System has already undergone a series of plant tests and is now being adjusted and tested in field conditions at training ranges of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus.
The System allows for air situation reconnaissance with radar and optronic equipment and detection of UAVs at a distance of up to 4,500 meters. A powerful laser can destroy UAVs at a distance of up to 1,500 meters. The guidance and tracking algorithm using AI guarantees minimum response time and maximum accuracy in hitting targets. The System can also be integrated into any existing air defense system.
The effectiveness of the System was clearly demonstrated to a wide range of Belarusian and foreign military specialists and media representatives during Zapad-2025 training, as well as at other operational and combat training events. The tests confirm the given specifications and correct technical solutions.
Creation of Shafran System is a confident response to the challenges of modern combat operations, strengthening the technological independency and defense capability of our country.
