SAMI Demonstrates UAV Detection Breakthrough: SCANNER 2.1 Acoustic System
Professionals at InnoTech Solutions company have developed the next-generation acoustic location system (ALS) called SCANNER 2.1.
The key feature of this system is its efficiency in detection of fibre optic drones, which are extremely difficult to detect with radio monitoring equipment.
Intended use of ALS SCANNER 2.1:
- creation of a zone for detection and direction finding of quadcopter drones equipped with electric motors,
- in collaboration with ALS Scanner system elements – detection of fixed-wing UAVs and measuring of their flight parameters: speed, course,
- can be used as part of mobile groups to protect facilities and personnel.
Technological advantages:
- small size: 23 cm in diameter, 1.2 kg assembled weight,
- mobility: less than 2 mins field deployment time,
- detection range: 100-300 m for the FPV drones, 1,000-1,500 m for the UAVs using combustion engines (depending on the acoustic environment),
- self-sustainability: at least 12 hours of operation on a built-in power supply.
The system employs artificial intelligence algorithms to filter unwanted noise and identify the distinctive acoustic signature of the FPV drones. Operator warning is repeated on a smartphone screen and a smartwatch.
