Klyon Short-Range Surveillance Radar Faces Another Testing Phase
The Klyon short-range surveillance radar passed another round of trials to evaluate its airborne target reconnaissance capabilities in a real-world environment. The testing was conducted during routine flights of the Air Force and Air Defence aircraft, in a complicated air situation. In this series of trials, the test specimens of the Klyon radar proved their effectiveness in low-flying airborne target detection, recognition and tracking.
The radar designed by JSC “ALEVKURP” can detect ground-moving objects (people, wheeled and caterpillar vehicles) and aerodynamic objects flying at low and on-the-deck altitudes at a speed of up to 140 m/s.
