Belarusian Head of SAMI Pays a Business Visit to Tajikistan

On 22-23 April 2025, Minister of the State Authority for Military Industry (SAMI) of the Republic of Belarus Dmitry Pantus visited the Republic of Tajikistan on a business trip.

Mr Pantus’ busy agenda started with a meeting with Sherali Kabir, the Minister of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan. The two ministers discussed the current state of bilateral military-technical cooperation and noted interest in its further development, including in the area of creation of joint production enterprises. The parties also reached an agreement to conduct the first session of the commission for military-technical cooperation this year.

The business trip of SAMI’s minister continued with talks with Defence Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan, Lieutenant General Emomali Sobirzoda. The parties discussed the progress of performance of contracts currently in force and defined the main promising projects together with their implementation algorithm.

On the final day of his stay, Mr Pantus met with First Deputy Chairman and Commander of the Border Troops of the State Committee for National Security of the Republic of Tajikistan, Major General Murodali Rajabzoda.

The parties discussed promising projects in the area of military-technical cooperation aimed at boosting the combat potential of the border troops and its implementation mechanisms and looked into the issues of reinforcement of specific sections of the Tajik border within the framework of the CSTO activities. They agreed to arrange for a visit of the Tajik experts to the Republic of Belarus to explore in practice the production capabilities of its defence industry companies.

The fruitful meetings with key representatives of the government and law enforcement agencies of Tajikistan facilitated the discussion of the current state of cooperation, definition of promising areas of development, including creation of joint production enterprises and implementation of specific projects aimed at increasing the defence capabilities and strengthening the border security of the nation friendly to the Republic of Belarus.
